Fritz Style walking canes were developed in order to achieve a more stable and natural feeling walking cane. Fritz Style walking canes were designed by a German count in the 16th century and arthritis sufferers have been using them ever since that time. The design provides maximum comfort and support as well as style. The handles on the Fritz walking cane are contoured for a comfortable fit and look a lot like derby handles. Fritz handles, however, are much smaller, making them ideal for those with petite size hands. the open-ended style handle, gives the Fritz handle sufficient room for the hand and fingers, preventing cramping. Some people call them the short derby because the points on the cane resemble the derby handle but are not as curved as the derby handle cane. The Fritz Style Handle can be found on many of the wooden walking canes as well as some of the aluminumfolding canes.
The Fritz Style walking canes are available in a wide assortment of colors, designs and materials. Some of these wonderful canes feature extras such as accent collars and rubber tips. The Fritz Style handles come in wood such as mahogany, silver plated metal, or chrome. Some of the walking canes also feature an accented collar giving it a stylish flair.
The Fritz Style walking cane is designed to distribute the weight of the user directly over the shaft of the cane. Designing the cane in this manner allows it to be used to its fullest potential, providing maximum stability while still being a comfortable cane.
